Managing inventory and stock

On this page

Inventory keeps the right product on the shelf and the wrong product off your patients. This guide covers receiving, tracking, and staying ahead of stock-outs.

Receive stock and track lots

When product arrives, receive it against the matching catalog product to create a lot with its quantity and expiry date. As treatments are charted, the right lot draws down automatically, so on-hand counts stay accurate without manual tallying.

Set reorder points

Give each product a reorder point. When on-hand drops below it, the Action Center raises a low-stock warning before you run out — and the Forecast view projects when you will hit it based on real usage.

Expiry and recalls

Tarsi watches expiry dates and flags lots before they lapse so you use oldest-first. If a lot is recalled, you can trace which patients received product from it. See Track lots, expiry, and recalls.

Common questions

Why is my on-hand count wrong?

Counts depend on products being logged on charts. If treatments were charted without recording units, on-hand will read high; record the usage to reconcile.

Can I move stock between locations?

Yes — transfers move quantity from one location to another and keep both locations' counts correct.

How far ahead does forecasting look?

The forecast uses your recent consumption to project upcoming stock-outs so you can reorder with lead time, not in a panic.
